To demonstrate the versatility and quality of the RAL quality assurance and to draw attention to the Quality Association for medium-sized local authorities, an image video was shot in the summer of 2020 together with Branditstrategy and design GmbH from Cologne and the RAL German Institute for Quality Assurance and Labeling e.V.
Municipalities that want to survive in the competition to attract companies to their location must rely on soft location factors, such as an administration that is oriented towards the needs of medium-sized businesses. With the RAL seal of quality for medium-sized local government, the current 29 members show that they value reliable and transparent administrative processes. A total of 14 verifiable quality criteria guarantee that the municipalities take particular account of the interests of industry. This includes, among other things, the payment of order invoices within 15 working days, the forwarding of commercial space inquiries within three working days or the processing of building applications within 40 working days.
Not only the companies benefit from this, but also the local governments themselves. Documentation obligations and regular external controls by neutral auditors contribute to the optimization of processes within the municipal administration.
For the video shoot, among other things, the premises of Coatema Coating Machinery GmbH were used. The company from Dormagen has existed for over 40 years and specializes in mechanical engineering for coating and printing systems. The company is an example for the success of the seal of quality and shows that an administration that acts quickly and efficiently contributes to keeping companies in place and becoming internationally successful.
